ENGLISH

Morocco’s first World Cup classification was in Mexico 1970 where the soccer team sang for the very first time in their history their National Anthem. Previous to 1970, Morocco’s National Anthem only had a musical version since it lacked lyrics. Morocco’s second time in a World Cup was in Mexico 1986 where it classified for the first time ever to the next stage of the tournament in first place of its group, defeating Portugal 3-1. This was a first for an African and Arabic team! .
