Spain World Cup Champion!

ENGLISH

Spain won the 2026 World Cup that took place for the very first time in three different countries: Canada, the United States and Mexico. Twentysix year old Ferran Torres who was born in Valencia, scored the only goal during the game against the current world champion Argentina. Leading the young team is an outstanding head coach Luis de la Fuente who was born in La Rioja, Spain. The 2030 World Cup will also take place in three countries: Morocco, Portugal and Spain. Viva España!

El valenciano de 26 años Ferrán Torres llevó a España a su segundo título mundial al ganar la copa del mundo en el evento ocurrido por primera vez en tres naciones del mundo: Canadá, Estado Unidos y México. Luis de la Fuente, el efectivo director técnico nacido en La Rioja, España reunió y preparó a los 26 jóvenes que realmente se presentaron y jugaron como un EQUIPO. Enhorabuena por España que jugará en el próximo Mundial 2030 que tambien se llevará a cabo en tres países: Marruecos, Portugal y España. ¡Que viva España!

For the first time at anyone of the World Cup competitions, Mexico classified to the next stage having won all three matches against South Africa, South Korea and Czechia. Ecuador was the next team to be defeated and even though the Mexican team lost against England, it played with honor and spirit. Jude Bellingham scored two goals but he earned the respect of Mexican people in the way he honored our team’s spirit and when he exchanged his shirt with the youngest player at the 2026 World Cup: Gil Mora who is 17 years old.

Por primera vez en un mundial, México calificó a la siguiente fase venciendo a sus tres adversarios; Sudáfrica, Corea del Sur y Chequia. Ecuador fué el siguiente rival al que México venció 2-0 pasando al siguiente partido para enfrentar a Inglaterra en el Estadio Azteca. Aunque la selección mexicana perdió 3-2 la afición mexicana quedó satisfecha con el desempeño y garra con el que los 11 jugadores se entregaron al público. Jude Bellingham también se ganó al público mexicano al mostrar su respeto por nuestro equipo y al intercambiar su playera con con jugador más joven del Mundial: Gil Mora de 17 años. Lo mas importante durante el Mundial fue la actitud de todos los mexicanos por creer en nuestra selección con el famoso cuestionamiento “¿y si sí?”.

Today the World Cup will start in Mexico City. Mexico will become the first country in the World to host the FIFA World Cup three times! Zayu is the Mexican mascot representing energy and happiness! Good luck to all teams competing and we hope that the Mexican team goes as far as possible during this championship!

In 2026 Mexico will become the first country in the World to host a World Cup for a third time (it was also the first country in the World to host it twice 40 years ago).

In 1970 the World Cup took place from May 31 to June 21 and the champion was Brazil. Juanito was the World Cup’s mascot (it was also the first “human” mascot in World Cup history).

In 1986 the World Cup took place from May 31 to June 29 and the champion was Argentina. Pique, a spicy hot pepper was the World Cup’s mascot.

In 2026 the World Cup will take place from June 11 to July 19. Zayu, a sporty Jaguar is one of the three World Cup’s mascot representing Mexico along with an American and Canadian mascots.

En el verano del 2026 México se convertirá en el primer país del mundo en ser anfitrión del Mundial de Futbol tres veces (también fue el primero en ser anfitrión dos veces hace 40 años).

En 1970 el Mundial tuvo lugar del 31 de mayo al 21 de junio siendo campeón Brasil. La mascota del Mundial fue el simpático Juanito.

En 1986 el Mundial tuvo lugar del 31 de mayo al 29 de junio siendo campeón Argentina. La mascota del Mundial fue el mexicanísimo chile jalapeño Pique.

En 2026 el Mundial tendrá lugar del 11 de junio al 19 de julio. Zayu, un atlético y cultural jaguar, será la mascota mexicana del Mundial junto a las mascotas canadiense y estadounidense.

Cristina Bucșa, a 28 year old Moldovan nationalized Spanish won the Merida Open defeating Polish tennis player Magdalena Fręch while in Acapulco 23 year old Italian tennis player Flavio Cobolli won against African-American Frances Tiafoe Jr in very tight games.

La moldava de 28 años de edad nacionalizada española Cristina Bucșa, ganó el abierto de Mérida imponiéndose a la polaca Magdalena Fręch mientras que en Acapulco el italiano de 23 años Flavio Cobolli venció al afroamericano Frances Tiafoe Jr en duelos muy reñidos.

Mexico at 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano

This year is the 11th time Mexico participates in the Winter Olympic Games with a team of 5 persons in Figure Skating, Alpine Skiing and Cross-country Skiing. Donovan Carrillo, Mexico’s top figure skater carried the Mexican flag at the Opening Ceremony. Also, the alpine skiers are a unique team made up of mother and son, Sarah Schleper and Lasse Gaxiola. The two cross-country skiers are Regina Martinez and Allan Corona both competing at the 10km freestyle competition. Good luck to our athletes!

Los juegos olímpicos de invierno de Milán serán la 11ava participación de México en este tipo de evento. La delegación de este año está compuesta por 5 atletas que participarán en patinaje artístico, esquí alpino y esquí de fondo siendo el abanderado Donovan Carrillo, máximo representante del patinaje artístico del país. La pareja de esquiadores alpinos está compuesta por madre e hijo, Sarah Schleper y Lasse Gaxiola. Los esquiadores de fondo son Regina Martínez y Allan Corona, ambos compitiendo en la prueba de 10 kms. ¡Éxito a nuestros atletas!

Osmar Olvera: World Champion! Congratulations!

Although Osmar was born in Mexico City on June 5th, 2004 he trains in the northeastern city of Monterrey (where Raul Gonzalez is from). Both athletes are the only Mexican olympians to win medals at two different events during the same olympic year; Raul did at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles and Osmar at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. This year Osmar won the gold medal at the World Diving Championship in Singapore. He was also considered the “Best Diver” in the event! Congratulations Osmar!

Aunque Osmar Olvera nació un 5 de junio del 2004, él pasa mucho tiempo entrenando en la norteña ciudad de Monterrey (de donde también es oriundo el atleta olímpico Raúl González). Ambos medallistas olímpicos son los únicos atletas mexicanos en haber ganado dos medallas en una misma olimpiada: Raúl en Los Ángeles 1984 y Osmar en París 2024. Además, este año Osmar ganó la medalla de oro en el Campeonato Mundial de Natación en Singapur donde también fue elegido como el mejor clavadista. ¡Felicidades Osmar!

Mexico at the Paralympic Games Paris 2024

Mexican athletes provide a several golden medals at the Paralympic Games. The Mexican Paralympic team usually ranks amongst the Top 20. During the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris Mexico ranked 30th. Our gold medalists were: Gloria Zarza and Juan Pablo Cervantes in track and field, and Arnulfo Castorena in the swimming competition. Congratulations to our athletes!

Felicidades al equipo de atletas paralímpicos mexicanos por su participación en los juegos de Paris 2024. En esta ocasión el equipo quedó en la posición 30 del medallero. Los medallistas de oro fueron: Gloria Zarza y Juan Pablo Cervantes en atletismo y Arnulfo Castorena en natación.

Mexico at the 2024 Paris Olympics Games

During the 2024 Paris Olympic Games Mexico won 3 silver medals and 2 bronze medals ranking at place 65. Considering Mexico has the 10th largest population in the World, the ranking was quite low. However, we cannot deny the happiness that Prisca Awiti, Marco Verde, Angela Ruiz, Alejandra Valencia, Ana Paula Vázquez, Juan Celaya and specially Osmar Olvera gave to our country!

ESPAÑOL

Durante los Juegos Olímpicos de París los atletas mexicanos ganaron 5 medallas (3 de plata y 2 de bronce) en las disciplinas de tiro con arco, tae kwon do, clavados y boxeo. Aunque México cuenta con la décima población más grande del mundo, en las olimpiadas ocupamos el lugar número 65. No obstante, Prisca Awiti, Marco Verde, Angela Ruiz, Alejandra Valencia, Ana Paula Vázquez, Juan Celaya y especialmente Osmar Olvera dieron al país una gran alegría. Gracias atletas!
