Two women will run for president in the 2024 Elections. Xochitl Galvez is a Mexican with native roots coming from the the Hñähñu (Otomi) culture. On the other hand, Claudia Sheinbaum is a Mexican whose grandparents immigrated from Lithuania and Bulgaria.

Starting around mid summertime, Mexico’s wine regions begin to celebrate harvest time. These celebrations are called “Vendimias”. The most famous wine regions are located in the northwestern state of Baja California (Guadalupe Valley), the northern state of Coahuila (the magic town of Parras) and the central state of Queretaro (around the magic town of Tequisquiapan). People get together to step on the grapes and explore vineyards to taste the delicious wines.

Al iniciar el verano en México las regiones vinícolas del país empiezan a celebrar las fiestas de las vendimias. Los tres estados vinícolas más famosos del país son: Baja California (Valle de Guadalupe), Coahuila (alrededor del pueblo mágico de Parras) y Querétaro (alrededor del pueblo mágico de Tequisquiapan). La gente se reúne para pisotear uvas y recorrer viñedos donde podrán catar deliciosos vinos.

Two states in Mexico had elections to select their respective governors. In the northern state of Coahuila, Manolo Jiménez Salinas won the election representing 3 parties and in the central State of Mexico, Delfina Gómez Álvarez won representing MORENA Party which during the last 5 years, this new party has won more than half of Mexico’s states.

En dos estados mexicanos se tuvieron elecciones para elegir a sus respectivos gobernadores. En el estado norteño de Coahuila el ganador fue Manolo Jiménez Salinas representando a 3 partidos y en el central Estado de México, la ganadora fue la maestra Delfina Gómez Álvarez representando al partido MORENA, que desde hace 5 años, ha ganado más de la mitad de la gobernaturas del país.
Red states represent MORENA Party. Los estados rojos representan al partido MORENA.

San Isidro is not only Madrid’s patron saint but he is also venerated in a few Latin-American cities such a Arteaga, a magic town located in a mountainous area of the state of Coahuila in northeastern Mexico. However, Madrid’s ambiance during the celebrations is quite unique thanks to the enthusiasm in the dances performed by the Chulapos and Chulapas.

Las fiestas de San Isidro en Madrid, España son famosas en el mundo hispanohablante. Sin embargo, varios lugares en América Latina también lo festejan, entre ellos el pueblo mágico de Arteaga en el estado de Coahuila localizado en el noreste de México. Pero sin duda alguna que los chulapos madrileños le dan un toque muy especial a la celebración con sus bailes alegres.

During March, Mexico lost great celebrities like movie star Ignacio Lopez-Tarso an icon during Mexico’s Golden Movie Era (1940’s-1950’s); actress Irma Serrano who later went into politics; TV celebrity Rebecca Jones and Mexico’s “eternal kid” Xavier Lopez “Chabelo” who broke two Guinness World Records conducting for 44 years every Sunday morning the family TV show “En Familia” and representing for 57 years the character of Chabelo. Yesterday, Dominican actor naturalized Mexican, Andres Garcia, joined this group of celebrities. May them all rest in peace and thank you for giving Mexicans great memories!

Durante el mes de marzo, México perdió a grandes íconos del cine y la televisión tales como el primer actor del cine de oro mexicano, teatro y televisión Ignacio López Tarso, la actriz y política Irma Serrano, la joven actriz Rebecca Jones y el “eterno” niño Xavier López “Chabelo”, quien rompiera dos record mundiales de Guinness al conducir todos los domingos durante 44 años el programa infantil “En Familia” y representar durante 57 años al personaje de Chabelo. Ayer el actor dominicano naturalizado mexicano se unió a este selecto grupo de celebridades. Descansen en paz estos grandes personajes que le regalaron a México grande momentos.

The first diplomatic approach between Persia (today Iran) and Mexico was in 1893 during the Porfiriato era. On the October 15, 1964 both countries established official diplomatic relations which were commemorated by both countries in 2014 issuing a joint set of postage stamps that honor their respective ancient civilizations.

El primer contacto diplomático entre Persia (hoy Irán) y México fue en 1893 durante el Porfiriato. El 15 de octubre de 1964 se inician relaciones diplomáticas oficiales entre ambos países mismas que fueron conmemoradas 50 años después en ambos países con el lanzamiento de estas estampillas postales que honran a sus respectivas antiguas civilizaciones.

Few tourists from around the World visit Mexico to enjoy its snowfalls. Most of them enjoy our country’s beaches in the Caribbean or Pacific Ocean. Others come to explore Maya Temples in the tropical jungles of the southeast and Yucatan peninsula. But tourists can marvel themselves crossing by train winter landscapes across northwestern Mexico or drive through any of the 5 snowcapped volcanoes in central Mexico during the whole year. After all, Mexico is the 3rd country in the World with the most diversity of climates!

Pocos turistas en el mundo visitan México por sus nevadas, al contrario, la mayoría vienen a disfrutar sus playas caribeñas o los atardeceres de las costas del Océano Pacífico. Otros cuantos, se aventuran a explorar pirámides mayas en las selvas tropicales del sureste mexicano. Pero, también pueden disfrutar paisajes nevados recorriendo en tren el noroeste del país durante el invierno o también recorriendo los volcanes del centro del país en cualquier mes del año. México ocupa el tercer lugar a nivel mundial en cuanto a variedad de climas.
